Grief Meets the Paranormal
Class Description:

Why do some spirits linger? What happens when we forget how to grieve? In this engaging class, licensed therapist and death doula, Samantha Turpin, offers a deep dive into how our cultural avoidance of death can shape our emotional, spiritual, and paranormal experiences. Together, we’ll explore how ancient traditions of mourning and ritual created bonds between the living and the dead - and what we lose when we sever those connections. This class combines psychological insight with spiritual exploration, examining how unacknowledged grief and unfinished emotional business can manifest as hauntings, energy imprints, or emotional “ghosts” in our own lives. We’ll also discuss ways to begin reconnecting with the dead and re-establishing rituals of remembrance - no matter your belief system. Whether you’re a paranormal investigator, spiritual seeker, or just someone carrying grief, you’ll leave with practical tools and a renewed connection to those who came before.

Class Outcomes:

By the end of this class, attendees will: *Understand how death practices have changed through history and the emotional consequences of modern disconnection. *Learn how unprocessed grief and emotional residue can contribute to hauntings and energy attachments. *Gain insight into how mental health and spiritual frameworks can intersect in paranormal experiences. *Discover ways to ritualize remembrance and create personal practices for honoring the dead. *Leave with tools to support their own grief journey or the grief of others. Attendees will walk away with both conceptual understanding and practical resources for healing grief, engaging with the paranormal more authentically, and integrating death as a meaningful part of life
