About A River Welhouse
Drawing on a background in psychology, communications, and years of spiritual practice, River approaches mediumship through a practical and grounded lens. Their work has been shaped by a diverse range of teachers, traditions, and lived experiences, helping to cultivate a deep respect for both the living and the dead. Over the years, River has participated in paranormal investigations throughout the American Southwest and Pacific Northwest. Yet it is not the locations themselves that have left the deepest impression, but the stories, spirits, and people connected to them. These experiences continue to inform River's emphasis on spiritual hygiene, healthy boundaries, ethical mediumship, and the importance of discernment in all spirit communication. Today, River teaches classes on mediumship development, spiritual safety, and intuitive practice, helping students learn to distinguish their own inner voice from information received through Spirit. Their approach is practical, approachable, and rooted in the belief that mediumship is not a performance, but a relationship—one built on respect, responsibility, and a willingness to listen. When not teaching, River can often be found writing, researching folklore and mythology, creating art, or exploring the spaces where history, story, and Spirit intersect.
Background

Having taught mediumship and spiritual development at conferences and events throughout the Pacific Northwest for more than seven years, they help students develop discernment, healthy boundaries, and meaningful relationships with Spirit while honoring both the living and the dead.
